Le Châtelard pond

Le Châtelard pond is ideally located near Le Chéran and Lescheraines lake, in the heart of the Bauges massif in the French Alps, Lescheraines is a group of four bodies of water. It can be visited by means of wide paths, swimming is prohibited on some water bodies in order to preserve wildlife. Fishing is allowed with barbless hooks and it is mandatory to release the catch. Classified in 2nd category fish farming, all fishing techniques are possible. The lake is well populated with carp, pike, perch, forage fish (roach, rotengles,...). Many birds such as ducks and herons can be observed, ducks, herons.

Picnic tables, benches and viewpoints are located around the pond. It is the ideal place for a family walk on Sundays

A leisure centre is located on one of the water bodies and for many years, the water body has benefited from a "WATER OF GOOD QUALITY". Health checks are carried out every 15 days.

Various activities are possible: tennis, pedal boat, restaurants, children's playgrounds, multi-sport ground, volleyball court, bowls, sports course.

How to get there To see the wildest pond, Le Châtelard, the one with the little island in the middle. It is possible to park in a nearby car park (45.691080, 6.119104). From there, it is possible to reach the lake in 3 minutes by foot.
