Lake Achard

Belledone, France

Lake Achard is located a little above Chamrousse. It is therefore the ideal family walk: very accessible, water: everything for the happiness of children! A word of advice, absolutely avoid the high season, preferably in the evening and pitch the tent! To do with children, excellent for an introduction to the bivouac.

Pretty mountain lake at an altitude of 1,917 metres, easily accessible in summer by a short hike from Chamrousse 1750 (Roche-Béranger). This lake has a particular charm with its harmonious configuration, clearly visible from the Col de l'Infernet. Peat bogs are found all around the main lake in the form of small lakes (the exact name is Les Lacs Achard) that are in the process of filling, but whose biological activity is very particular. In good weather, you will have an exceptional view of Taillefer.

Lake Achard being located in the Natura 2000 area, fire and camping are prohibited, bivouacs are allowed from sunset to sunrise. Stay on the trails to preserve fragile environments.
